Feed your inner geek
Full disclosure: As a once recovering gamer, I studiously avoided FRPGs, high end board games and the like... The host of this show helped me relapse into full fledged gaming again. I bear the responsibility, but Scott Bogen was certainly a catalyst. As a relapsed gamer, my review is certainly biased.
This is a clever, well rounded show oriented to a more grown up audience. (all "PG" but there is a cocktail segment). The technical qualities are top notch, very clean and professionally done.
Scott has interesting interviews and segments that explore many aspects of gaming. He is constantly seeking out new and/or interesting games and has a good knack for encapsulating the mood along with the more technical aspects of each game while avoiding getting bogged down in details.
I especially enjoy the emerging regular segments (miniature painting, cocktails, war games) and look forward to new installments.
If you are a gamer, are gamer curious, or if you have a geek streak that has no outlet - this podcast is food for your soul. Enjoy!!!!
Superbly executed game podcast
As a podcaster, I am acutely aware of how tough it can be to make all the ideas you have come alive in a show. Scott does a great job of organizing his show and I learn something each show that I actually want to know.
~Dave, Nerdherders Podcast host
My favorite board game podcast!
There are plenty of podcasts out there dealing with my favorite hobby. I listen to most of them. This is my favorite and my girlfriend Renee's too.
I love the different segments (even Cocktails with Ash, though I don't drink). I also enjoy the personal stories. The 30 second reviews are short and sweet.
Thank you Scott, and please keep them coming!!
