Money. Romance. Tragedy. Deception. The story of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos is an unbelievable tale of ambition and fame gone terribly wrong. How did the world's youngest self-made female billionaire lose it all in the blink of an eye? How did the woman once heralded as "the next Steve Jobs" find herself facing criminal charges -- to which she pleaded not guilty -- and up to 20 years in jail? How did her technology, meant to revolutionize healthcare, potentially put millions of patients at risk? And how did so many smart people get it so wrong along the way? ABC News chief business, technology and economics correspondent Rebecca Jarvis, along with producers Taylor Dunn and Victoria Thompson, take listeners on a journey that includes a three-year-long investigation. You'll hear exclusive interviews with former employees, investors, and patients, and for the first-time, the never-before-aired deposition testimony of Elizabeth Holmes, and those at the center of this story. New episodes post Wednesdays.

Customer Reviews

Good story well told.

Read some bad reviews; some said it’s “dumb down.” Well, I must be an idiot b/c I’m enjoying the journalism and storytelling.

Check it out and enjoy.

I’m hooked!

This podcast is great! Instantly addicting. It does such a great job of telling this insane story. Now, I have not read Bad Blood, so I can’t compare it to that. I can only say, as a person going in without any knowledge of this story, this is fantastic! My only knock is that it’s released weekly. I want it all now!!

listen to the “Bad Blood” audiobook instead

This podcast feels like 5th grade book report. I’m disappointed because I was truly looking forward to another fresh take on this story. Instead, it was overly simplistic, with narration that adds little value. The reporting, so far, isn’t nearly as deep or nuanced as I’d expected. Example: “So, you were work buddies?” It was a struggle to keep listening past that point, but I was hopeful. Turns out, the hope was misplaced.

It seems like this would be a great podcast for older kids and teens. But not for anyone who already read better reporting in the story.
