Here is something dune

Although I may not agree with their conclusions, the discussions are interesting

A Fantastic Walk Through the Dune Universe

I started reading Frank Herbert's original Dune series in the late 70s, and read the Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s prequels as they were released starting in 1999. While there are strongly divided feelings about the BH & KJA’s books, I’ve loved them all and felt they meshed well with Frank Herbert’s original six novels. The Dune Saga Podcast has hit the ground running with its marathon effort to walk us through the entire family of Dune universe books, uniquely in the chronological order of their events rather than in the order the books were published. Scott, Jim and David are clearly fans and yet they keep any potential biases in check and do a great job of taking a balanced approach to reviewing the books. They’re even going to fold the movies/mini-series into the effort, and have a plan to accommodate the books that are still pending! I’m a fan the Dune universe, and definitely a fan of this podcast. Whether you’ve already read the books, or might be thinking about it, join in. You’ll feel like you’re sitting around with three friends at the end of the day, chatting about these great works of science fiction.

Don’t know much about history

Hard to take a Dune podcast seriously that finds no historical examples of the Duniverse’s political structure (hello, Holy Roman Empire, anyone?), needs to check that “Padishah” is Farsi, and has no idea why it’s the “Orange Catholic Bible” (don’t they realize that Herbert mixes religious sects—Zen Sunni as Fremen progenitors and, here, Protestant and Catholic)? Just wow. Basic historical knowledge independent of Dune, guys. I hope you’re not school teachers.
