Customer Reviews

Fantastic look at the other side of the Cold War

This is a really well done podcast looking at life in the Soviet Union as it actually was. I really enjoy the personal narratives that Kristaps peppers throughout the episodes. An excellent blend of history, humor, and a cool accent. Also, the Armenian Radio jokes are terrific. Very highly recommended.

A storyteller's soviet history

Curated from the stories of everyday citizens, The Eastern Border provides a fascinating and enjoyable view of the issues and problems endured by the populace of the Soviet Union. A great listen!

Smart and fun.

Very informative and entertaining at the same time. History of an under-represented era with wonderful first and second hand anecdotal stories. You will enjoy this. Also included is a good analysis of how the small pictures of life often depicted here fit into the bigger sheme of things. These episodes cover specific topics and are not a dull chronological plod through history if that worries you. Pick one and give it a try.
