A show to savor!

Every episode feels like an intimate, warm conversations between four knowledgeable, thoughtful friends who just happen to know everything about the intersections between food and culture. The Four Top doesn't require a foodie predisposition to be enjoyed, but it definitely satisfies my culinary curiosities! I love the way it places the world of food and drink within a broader context; it's not just about food, but about all the behaviors, emotions, and thoughts that make it such an essential, fundamental part of life and human connection.

Increasingly local

The current episode is a good example: it's all about the host's economic interests, albeit they are wrapped in a global blanket. Worrying about the effect of climate changte on vineyards is like worrying about the quality of champagne when two-thirds of the world lacks clean drinking water.

A national (?) food and beverage podcast that ignores the death of a man whose fearless travels brought food into our living rooms from all over the world? A national (?) food and beverage podcast that ignored the 2018 James Beard Restaurateur Awards, none of which went to Portland based entrerprises. The show is less an exploration of food and beverage culture than it is a celebration of its panelists egos and their deification of Portland as the epicenter of innovative cuisine, a self-anointed accolade if ever there was one.

Recommended To Anyone Who Eats Food - sooooo everyone!!!

I love this podcast! As a Portland resident, I am naturally a foodie but I never knew how little I knew about food until I listened to this podcast. I learn so much each episode. I loving getting to explore different facuets of food and beverage every other week. Thank you for making this podcast! It is a flavorful feast of a podcast!
