Entertaining, even for non-gamers
This is a truly an excellent podcast for fans of Disney's animated features and the art of storytelling.
The hosts do an amazing job both in researching the films and in breaking down the story elements, insightfully evaluating why they succeed or fail.
The podcast is well structured, well produced technically, and the hosts are easy on the ears (Katrina is especially charming).
On rare occasions the hosts' social ideologies may seem to overwhelm their analysis (at least to those of us of different perspectives) but they are unfailingly thoughtful and worth consideration.
To new listeners I recommend starting with The Black Cauldron episode to really get a good idea of how strong the podcast is.
Brilliant and incisive
An instant favorite. Entertaining, insightful, and a spur to every gamer's imagination. The combination of background information about each film, the scene-by-scene analysis, and the discussion of character and narrative structure is powerful. Basically, every gamer and every Disney fan needs to listen to this show from the beginning.
Delightfully engaging & thoughtful
This podcast is superb! I immediately subscribed and am working my way through all the episodes via the website (the earliest episode I could get on my iPod app was #38). This podcast offers an excellent and entertaining breakdown of each film followed by insights on character and narrative elements and developments (or sometimes lack thereof). The hosts have a great dynamic, often offering differing perspectives which are both well-thought out and well-presented. In short, this podcast should be listening material for any Disney fan or gamer, any narrative writer or animated film enthusiast, or really anyone that would enjoy a thoughtful discussion on storytelling -- it's really excellent!
