Welcome to the Gameable Saturday Morning Podcast, a tabletop RPG podcast in the Gameable Podcast series. We analyze Saturday morning (and other) cartoons for settings, plots, characters, and themes that we can use for tabletop gaming. At the end up each episode, we come to a verdict on the week's series: Is it gameable?

Brilliant and incisive

An instant favorite. Entertaining, insightful, and a spur to every gamer's imagination. The combination of background information about each film, the scene-by-scene analysis, and the discussion of character and narrative structure is powerful. Basically, every gamer and every Disney fan needs to listen to this show from the beginning.

Entertaining, even for non-gamers

This is a truly an excellent podcast for fans of Disney's animated features and the art of storytelling.
The hosts do an amazing job both in researching the films and in breaking down the story elements, insightfully evaluating why they succeed or fail.
The podcast is well structured, well produced technically, and the hosts are easy on the ears (Katrina is especially charming).
On rare occasions the hosts' social ideologies may seem to overwhelm their analysis (at least to those of us of different perspectives) but they are unfailingly thoughtful and worth consideration.
To new listeners I recommend starting with The Black Cauldron episode to really get a good idea of how strong the podcast is.

A True Resource for GMs

If you have ever found yourself watching a movie and trying to break it down into things to steal for your own tabletop sessions, this podcast is for you. I love the examination of storytelling and translation of those elements to game, along with sharp film criticism from the very likable hosts.
