Love it

If you took the Colbert Report, and This American Life and then elegantly blending them together into an imaginative, funny, smart, lefty hour of awesomeness, you have an idea about what to expect with The Good Fight.

Rachel Maddow meets Ira Glass meets the Onion

Imagine the political incision of Rachel Maddow, the storytelling genius of Ira Glass, and the cutting-edge satire of the Onion. Imagine all those three combined, and you’re still not close to how good this is.

Funny, moving, inspiring, heartbreaking, compelling, thrilling, exciting, and other nice adjectives.

Inspiring and practical, all in one

I was skeptical at first that another liberal podcast is what the doctor ordered. I've been in the choir constantly preached to by the likes of Stephanie Miller, Ed Schultz, and yes... Al Franken. However this podcast is different.

First of all, it's honest. They admit failures without sugarcoating them. Living in a world where only good things happen gets old after a while. Reality is messy and no progress is ever made without setbacks and false starts.

Second, it's practical. It's not ideological about what's right and what's wrong on every issue. The podcast lives in the real world where compromise is required to get anything done, and even watered-down victories are still victories to be celebrated.

Third, it's inspirational. Instead of sitting and feeling smug about hearing my own opinions being spouted back at me, I'm challenged to participate in the process to actually make a change.

This is rapidly becoming my second favorite podcast (Sorry Ben... Rachel Maddow still has you beat). I look forward to it every week.
