Positive and Inspiring

Thanks Paul for sharing some healthy and inspiring lifestyle changes through being active not only phsyically, but mentally and spiritually too.

Surprisingly motivational

I’ll be honest, deep at heart I tend to lean cynical. It’s not something I’m proud of, but at least I recognize it and try to combat it. So my first instinctive reaction to a podcast like this, full of upbeat positivity and encouragement, would be to roll my eyes and move on.

I checked this podcast out because I happen to know Paul, and I have to admit I’m enjoying it. I’ve got 5 episodes down so far and I’m surprised by the motivational power. Paul records part of each episode while he’s actually hiking, whether it’s up a mountain or down the streets of Chicago. He gets pretty short of breath, and honestly the first episode when this happened I thought to myself, “This is silly! Who would want to listen to him panting and puffing along?” But you know what? There’s something actually motivational in it. As one who enjoys a good hike in the great outdoors, I think more than anything I get a little JEALOUS of listening to him out on these hikes in various parts of God’s green earth. It’s got my mind reeling a bit on where/how I can get on a hike of my own.

I also particularly liked the story of the two explorers racing to be the first to the South Pole, and the contrasting methods used. That was probably the best episode so far, and I hope to hear more of that sort of thing in future episodes.

5 stars, I will continue to listen. Thanks, Paul! Don’t go to Mt Kilimanjaro without me!
