History and video games discussed with insightful, fun experts

This is a fantastic concept, combining history and video games to bring academia to what is largely thought of as an entertainment media, and I've really enjoyed their YouTube content and now their new podcast. I think this sort of thing sometimes takes the risk of being dry, but the hosts and all their guests so far have been incredibly interesting. They bring REAL experts in and the result is just great. If you like video games, listen. If you have an interest in history, too, then definitely listen. If you don't like history yet, you just might after listening :)

An outstanding podcast - one of a kind

History Respawned brings historical detail and depth to the video games we love to play. It's a great way to learn more about the historical background to video games--and let's face it, it's hard to play games like Assassin's Creed, Far Cry Primal, and Bioshock, and not wonder at least a little, "What's the real history behind that?" Bob and John are historians in their own right, but equally as important, they are gamers and understand and love video games for what they are. This is the podcast for anyone interested in history and games.

Historical surprise

I was searching for a podcast about Dragon Age Inquisition and this popped up. So I downloaded it and the episode was about DAI AND The Witcher 3, which I prefer to play. Without any clue of what it was about I listened to it and couldn't stop with just one episode. Delving into actual history with actual scholars on the topic was a great surprise and I'm glad I gave it a chance and you will too once you listen.
