A Chance Encounter (Kinda)

I came across this podcast through a friend who said, "Why don't go check this out?" Of course, we do this often. She introduces me to Kpop things and I'm sort of in it for the ride. I checked it out, sort of wary, since I didn't know what to expect, but I was happily surprised. Not only are the two hosts nice to listen to and funny, but they are also informed (obviously) but newbie friendly for people that don't know much about Kpop. I listened to the Twice episode first and felt that there were moments where I started feeling included in their conversation although technically it was a conversation between the two hosts. I highly recommend listening to this podcast, even if you are new to Kpop because it introduces you to new music and if you are into different kinds of music, maybe through this podcast, you can expand the music in your library. Overall, this is a highly fun, informative (but not in a, "I'm in school" kind of way), and entertaining to listen to.

The Kpop Show

I'm a big fan of this podcast. I have a fairly monotonous job and The Kpop Show keeps me very entertained and informed about the Kpop music world while I'm at work. I really enjoy listening to the hosts and they are both really good at analyzing music. They excel in finding small but interesting and important details about all the songs they discuss, and they keep the mood upbeat with their entertaining personalities and very fair, well-thought-out reviews.
The podcast sound quality is really good too, which is always great bonus. :)
My only "critique" is that I wish they released podcasts more often! I'd love to see content more frequently from these guys. 5 out of 5 stars!

Intelligent and insightful commentary about K-Pop music

Currently, the K-Pop community is still mainly a bunch of gushing young fans who are completely ignorant about music, and the discussions are often just very shallow comments on the visual aspects of K-Pop videos and celebrity gossip. When there's actual discussion of the music itself, the obvious ignorance about music leads to comments with very little substance. Basically, it's a sad state of affairs.

The K-Pop community sorely needs intelligent discussions that actually involves adequate understanding of music, musicianship, music production, music history, music industry, etc. The Kpop Show is one of the two existing podcasts that are actually providing quality discussion and commentary about K-Pop (the other one being K-Pop Unmuted). These two podcasts, along with MRJKPOP's Youtube channel and K-Pop Vocal Analysis website, are the few sources of quality K-Pop discussions, analysis, and commentary.

I hope this podcast sticks around and won't just abruptly end like Critical K-Pop, because the community really needs more intelligent shows that have substance.
