Welcome to The Lonely Palette, the podcast that returns art history to the masses, one painting at a time. Each episode, host Tamar Avishai picks a painting du jour, interviews unsuspecting museum visitors in front of it, and then dives deeply into the object, the movement, the social context, and anything and everything else that will make it as neat to you as it is to her. Just really, really well done.
Like a cuppa tea!
Though episode 1 is an intro to the world of art museums and I am old hat, I still found this terrifically enjoyable. I highly recommend listening to this with a cup of coffee or tea. So beautifully done Tamar Avishai has a soothing voice and she is also quite funny in parts, with a pretty familiar musical backdrop that I enjoyed. NPR quality entertainment/education.
Love the writing
Just a great way to visit the picture.
