The Lost Cat is a hidden gem

A brilliantly chilling and comical adventure of a man trying to recover his lost cat in an world of eldrich horrors and lovecraftian conspiracy. If you are a fan of Gaiman and Pratchett, this podcast is a must-listen.

Underrated

I plug this podcast every chance I get. Each episode is connected by the larger narrative, but for the most part are standalone episodes, expcept season two, which is a single narrative. From monsters living in your shadow to living worry dolls, each episode explores some new manner of strangeness in the narrator's world. A P Clarke has a wonderful voice, both when narrating and singing, as each episode also comes with a song (and I for one would dearly love to have an album).

There are definite influences from places like Night Vale and Lovecraft, but The Lost Cat remains its own unique thing, swinging from weird and creepy (most of the time) to oddly charming (on occasion). The characters are delightfully nonchalant when faced with the strange, matter-of-factly rolling along with whatever new abnormality comes their way. The show is less concerned with the "hows" and simply accepts the bizzare as fact, which is a refreshing change of pace from other shows with a similar tone.

After season one, I kept The Lost Cat in my subscription list for over a year, hoping there would eventually be a continuation. I would check on it every few months, just in case; it's nice that my patience paid off at last :) Glad to be in season three!
