Eerie and Extraordinary

This podcast was my first introduction to Call of Cthulhu. And what an introduction! Since I started listening to this podcast, I’ve had the chance to play in a one-shot and use the mechanics I’ve heard in this show, and it was every bit as full of fun and intrigue as it sounded!

I loved each of the characters instantly. They are such a mixed group, but each bring a lot to the investigative table. Not to mention, the story! I understand now that CoC revolves around mystery, but mystery as a genre is one of my favorites, so the plot hook snagged me.

Then things only get better from there! I find myself trying to figure things out as the story unfolds and holding my breath when the players roll for sanity. It’s fair to say, I’ve been at the edge of my seat in some of these episodes, and that’s made this eerie podcast even more extraordinary!

Very Bingeable and Enthralling!

Had seen this podcast suggested to me a few times on Twitter and I was very intrigued by the premise, Lovecraft horror and an all female group, and was not disappointed! By the end of the first episode I was hooked and blasted through the next few. The players are all fun and interesting to listen to with unique characters and the Keeper does a great job of moving the story along organically while setting a eerie tone. A podcast the Darklord would be proud of!

Roll for Sanity

It's awesome to see a group of awesome ladies doing a CoC game. If you are familiar with Dungeons and Dragons, it's a very similar type of game but has a different rule structure. You don’t need to know anything about the rules to enjoy this story however. The production of the show is awesome, with foley sounds for things crashing on the ground and music to gauge the mood of the scene. There are a few audio issues in the first few episodes but they resolve the issue. Overall, it’s a fun ride through 1920s Chicago and as someone regularly travels there, it’s fun to hear a landmark mentioned! Can’t wait to hear more!
