Customer Reviews

Disappointing and also interesting

First off, people who write 5 star reviews before the podcast even comes out are Trump level dumb.
Now the actual review. I can't figure out this podcast, there are moments when it is genuinely fascinating, and others where it's unlistenable. I'll give it a few more weeks but the format is all over the place, so far there seems to be no cohesion and no real story, but also something great seems to be juuuuuust out of reach.

Chills

I listened to this podcast in the car on the ride home from somewhere. Normally I'd reach for Nightvale to spook up my long drive but tonight I made a different decision, one I might even call better. Although a tad confusing in the beginning, soon I was completely smitten by the character of Janitor. His story struck a chord. Stayed with me but it wasn't until the ending that I knew without a doubt I was hooked. I arrived home with chills, hair on the back of my neck standing straight up and a newfound obsession. This podcast leaves you wanting more with the final story one that makes you feel as if you've cracked the journal of a women who's secret she thought she would take to the grave. Truly unnerving. Beautifully and very genuinely told. Nightvale, you've finally done it again. If Alice left you wanting more and feeling a little conned, and Relaxtion Tapes left you empty and a little bored, pull up a seat because you've just entered a world you'll love just as much as you did when Nightvale finally opened Oak Doors. Welcome to the new fandom. It feels like home.

Fascinating and mysterious

NVP has got another fascinating concept pod full of mystery and horror. First episode had aspects that some podcasts miss out on, either individually or in some entirety: excellent writing cognizant of voice, great voice acting, high production value, an experimental yet effective concept, and easy transitions among each portion. Alice Isn't Dead, Within the Wires, and now this seem to be pushing the concept of what a fiction podcast can bring to a listener. Excited for more, keep it up, team!
