The Paulcast, curated by Kurt Willems, is a new podcast devoted to the study of the most famous Apostle. He's been read to justify almost every agenda. People have reacted against such agendas and have let go of any hope that Paul is anything more than a misogynistic chauvinist. But who is Paul, really? What if Paul was revolutionary? What if Paul's letters were read in a world where his ideas were dangerous? What if Paul actually proclaimed world-changing news unlike anyone had before? In The Paulcast, Kurt Willems looks at issues pertaining to relevant scholarship, (radical) new perspectives on Paul, Jewish and Roman contexts for understanding his letters, important Pauline scholars and books, and Paul's ongoing relevance for regular folks today. In addition, Kurt will occasionally interview important voices from a variety of perspectives who will help us wrestle with the major questions that come out of the study of the historical Paul.

The PaulCast

Not to single out just one of Kurt Willems great programs - Rapture Drill, The PaulCast, Theology Curator, they’re all really engaging and thoughtful- had to limit myself here. As a recovering legalist and retiring lawyer, I do love a well reasoned argument. Kurt Willems has them aplenty. He does his homework as a scholar and then, without sounding the least bit condescending, he treats us to an eminently understandable version of his scholarship. He is a treat to listen to as a narrator: engaging, articulate, “intelligent and humanizing” (his trademark), vulnerable and, just often enough, playful. Willems doesn’t shy away from controversial subjects. And that’s a good thing, too. He is quite in his element talking about elephants in the room. Oh, and fabulous guests, too!

Fantastic Podcast! Much needed

I recently discovered this podcast, and have been bing-listening. Fastastic stuff, so many great guests and great insights.

Intelligent and Humanizing Indeed!

Kurt's vision to discuss biblical and cultural issues in intelligent and humanizing ways is realized very well through this podcast. I grew up in a conservative, Evangelical church, and over the past several years have been finding the traditions and beliefs that need to be deconstucted in my life. The Paulcast has been a huge help to help me articulate my faith to both non-Christians and Evangelicals.
