Description

Weekly podcast with tips, tools and advice for starting, growing, and building your private practice as a therapist, counselor, social worker, psychotherapist, mental health clinician or any other helping profession. My name is Gordon Brewer and I am the person behind The Practice of Therapy Blog and Website; www.practiceoftherapy.com. I help clinicians get the tools they need to have a successful and thriving private practice. I especially like to help frustrated therapists make the transition from agency work into private practice. So in this podcast you will learn how to market your practice, get more referrals and run the business side of private practice. Each week we will cover a topic related to small business growth and have guest experts to help guide you on your private practice journey. With over 10 years of experience in private practice I have been both trainer and supervisor of therapists. I owner of Kingsport Counseling Associates, PLLC which is a group practice located in East Tennessee. I worked for a non-profit agency before transitioning into private practice. I have always said that I have learned a lot of stuff the hard way. I love being able to help therapists, counselors and other clinicians learn what I have learned, but not do it the "hard way" like I did! Gordon has been featured on the Practice of the Practice podcast, PsychCentral, and been a guest blogger for several other private practice and clinical blogs.
