Potentially great podcast that comes up short

I was very interested in finding a Simpsons podcast that was fun and would dissect older episodes of the Simpsons so it seemed like this would hit the mark, however it comes up short. They do a decent job of breaking the episodes down but there is little chemistry with the hosts. Matt is full of unfunny jokes and awkward moments. Robbie would benefit by dropping him and finding someone else. In addition the podcast is full of cringe worthy moments like a passionate plea not to visit comic book stores ran by people like Comic Book Guy. The subject matter provides infinite opportunities to create a solid podcast and this one fumbles on each of those opportunities

Perfectly cromulent.

"Bake 'em away, toys!"

I'm really into the "let's recap episodes of a beloved TV show" trend in podcasts, and considering I've been a Simpsons fan since childhood, I don't know how I didn't discover this show until last week.

However, better late than never, and I've been marathoning episodes ever since. The guys are clearly incredibly knowledgeable but are also funny and don't get too "Comic Book Guy" about their fandom, and I appreciate that they get listeners involved via social media. The additional segments aside from the recap add great depth to the show, and while the audio quality is a little iffy in the early episodes, it does greatly improve.

If you're a fan of the Simpsons and/or TV recap podcasts, definitely check this one out.
