This podcast is all about being an intelligent traveler. My name is Evan Jordan and I've been a tourism researcher for more than ten years. I'm currently a tourism professor at Arizona State University. In each podcast episode, I interview a tourism researcher about their latest findings. I help translate those findings from complex research terms into simple, easy to understand language that will help you be efficient, intentional, and intelligent in your travels. Why travel research? As a tourism professor, I read tourism research every day that provides great information about how to be a better traveler. Just like research that helps people decide what they should be eating to live longer or the latest medical treatments, there is a ton of great tourism research out there that is useful to travelers, but a lot of it doesn't make it into popular media. This podcast is my solution to that problem.

Extremely engaging and intelligent
If I had been asked if I would be interested in a podcast on the acedemic study of tourisim, I would have been skeptical. Then I listened. Blown away. I love a podcast that makes me think, and the Trip Doctor sure does that.
Very unique idea. I've never heard anything like it. Wonderful execution as well.
I need more of this
So good!! Honestly, I was expecting more of a generalized discussion but diving into the segment on the elephants used in circuses was (heartbreakingly) fantastic! Can’t wait to hear more!
