Giving Voice to the Undercurrent

There has been a growing, swelling undercurrent of individuals leaving organized church for the last couple of decades. But while this number has been growing, this group of individuals have not lost their faith and have hungered for a communal spirituality. Richard Jacobson and the Unchurching book/podcast are giving voice and shape to this organic, grassroots movement of Christ-followers.

A voice in the desert - YOU are not alone!

In his excellent book, Unchurching, Richard Jacobson brilliantly and succinctly lays out a biblical case that the church as we have come to know it has lost its way. In this podcast, he expands upon the ideas of the book.

Many of us realize that the church has jumped the theological shark, but we feel alone, isolated, and rejected. The Unchurching podcast is a voice in the wilderness, crying out to us, telling us we are not alone.

Thank you, Richard, for being an oasis in the desert landscape of the American church. Thank you for calling us back to who we were always meant to be.

Enjoyable and Informative

Richard Jacobson and his co-host Gunnar have a great chemistry in this podcast and it makes it easy and enjoyable to listen to. The episodes are short, which always leaves me wanting more. Maybe they do that intentionally to keep the foucs on one thing at a time, rather than dumping the whole truckful in my mential driveway. Richard doesn't seem to be trying to drive Christians toward "unchurching," rather he seems to be offering insight, information, and encouragement to those who are already done with Churchianity either mentally or actually. It's off to a great start.
