Women are not included as much as we would like to be. Having one women on a podcast, panel, or conference does not properly showcase our gender. Because of this, over time we get used to not seeing women in influential roles. So we begin to see women that are brave enough to be in the public eye as the exception, making us feel that only exceptional women should be given a voice. "We need to be visible and start to expect inclusion until it’s normal, because it should be." It hurts me to admit that there were times I felt unexceptional, so I would exclude myself before anyone could make me feel excluded. I would go to conferences and feel like I wasn’t good enough. I would try to talk to my peers and my voice would be ignored. Even though I had reached all the same success in my career as my male counterparts, I had a hard time being taken seriously. Why? Ladies, we need to get better at including ourselves. We need to be comfortable with being seen and heard in this industry no matter what we look like or how much experience we have. We need to be visible and start to expect inclusion until it’s normal, because it should be. I want to build visibility up for the female artists around me and seek out their exceptional voices, until that act itself becomes ordinary. In this first season, I'm going to introduce you to 12 women from all over the world. Each with unique accents, culture, and struggles so we can begin to learn from each other on how to get noticed in this male-dominated industry. These lady boss artists and I are going to be very open on how to build a following, find your unique style, launch products, get clients, build passion projects, and get paid what you're worth. We’ve all heard the artist interviews saying that it’s possible to make a living doing what you love, but rarely does anyone talk about how. This video interview series will help you build up your confidence and marketing chops so you can carve out your own path to illustration success. This movement started January 1st, 2018. I have a lot of work ahead of me and I hope you want to be on this f*****g awesome journey with me. JOIN OUR COMMUNITY ON PATREON

I wanted to love this...

So clearly there is good information here but the delivery needs some polishing. It’s just uncomfortable to listen to. The audio is not the best quality, which I understand good audio equipment is expensive but could you then at least not fluctuate between mumbles and shouting. I had to stop listening flat out because I hurt my ear which is really disappointing. Also, I don’t mind explicit language at all but there is an inordinate amount of cussing in this that only detracts from the content and makes the brand feel a little immature. Hopefully in time this will evolve into everything it is meant to be, I’ll keep checking back until then.
