Description

In quick and dirty 20-25 minute episodes, Preston takes a fresh look at what the Bible really says, as he challenges opinions and traditions--yes, even his own. Homosexuality, sex, porn, drinking, immigration, racial tensions, violence, ISIS, Trump, guns, patriotism, you name it. If it's of interest, you can expect Preston to address it. Think of it as theology for the rest of us. If you have any questions you'd like him to address on the show, email them to chris@prestonsprinkle.com. Hate mail and tirades will be discarded or mocked.

Preston is A Voice Worth Hearing

I'm glad this was finally made available in podcast form (been streaming from the website for a while now).

How to describe him and his work best? Here is a quite from his blog at Patheos that sums him up well:

"One of the best pieces of intellectual advice I received (from a student, actually) was that 'we should seek to understand before we critique.' Another person, this time a colleague, used to say that 'you need to get to a place where you are an inch away from believing something before you can truly understand it,' and he was talking about Islam. Pretty risky stuff, but I think they’re both right. A solid, honest, informed—indeed, Christian—way of evaluating a any interpretation or doctrine is to understand it before you critique it."

That describes Preston. He struggles for truth and understanding, no matter where it leads. And he's always gracious while he does it. He's Worth you're time.

GREAT JOB!

WOW…What Does The Bible Really Say Podcast is flat out awesome. Good production quality. Easy to listen. Very impressed Preston. Keep bringing it.

You're Right, Christians Stop Imposing Biblical Teaching on Secular Society

Your tone is upbeat and maybe you'll sway other Christians to stop being so hateful towards LGBTI people in the public sphere. I'm not hopeful that will happen however as your message is at odds with the Evangelical tradition which asks Christians to "live their faith" in the public sphere. When I don't see a preacher recruiting on campus with homophobic language, I'll count that as progress.
