I soooo wanted to enjoy this podcast

I tried this podcast out a few months ago and couldn't stand slogging through all of the fluff to get to the actual content. I gave a couple more episodes a chance today, and I just couldn't do it. I'm not looking for a podcast of a sixty-year-old, terminally-republican, genetically-constipated guy reading abstracts from journals. I enjoy hearing actual personality in hosts. But these two sound so vapid that it's painful. If I wanted to hear drunken giggles interspersed with "totally" and "fer real," I'd visit a frat house. I'm glad that some folks enjoy it; I love science and appreciate that it is being shared with an audience who appreciate it with this feed. I'm not trying to change the mind of anybody who likes TWIS... just a word of warning for those who have already had enough of adolescence. It's just too sophomoric and "science-lite" for me.

I've heard 'em all, But I LISTEN to TWIS!

Consistently excellent, this podcast is delivered to lay-people in terms that we can understand. (rather than a PHd candidate trying to impress the scientific powers that be, TWIS is for real, and it's for us) Kirsten and Justin make science fun; my third grade son loves to listen to this program with me. Give it a try! And if you like it, remember...the UCDavis radio station is largely funded by donations...So visit the gift shop, buy a tee. No doubt if this program could be picked up by a commercial station... But let's keep TWIS pure by offering our support. Thank You K and J, Hear ya Tuesday!

Great show!!

Who says science has to be stuffy? This show is hip, funny, and just cool! the kicker is that Kirsten is the real brain on the program. A great role model for girls who might enter science professions. Note to would-be mad scientists: you MUST hear the Podcast from January 23, 2006. The second half of the show talks about a new hobby book that you will have to buy, once you've heard about it.
