Guidance for the Trading Novice

I just got caught up on Trading Story and look forward to the next episode. For a listener like me, who is curious about trading but suspicious of snake oil, this podcast provides some welcome context. Through a format that is both consistent across episodes and flexible, host Brandon Clay alternates between interviews with experienced traders and short personal advice for the novice. The consistency comes in the form of a list of questions that each guest is asked in order, allowing listeners to make useful comparisons among the varying points of view. The flexibility is introduced by the guests themselves as they take the ball and run with it in their own directions.
Clay comes from the marketing world, and the skills he has acquired there shine though in these podcasts. He has a writer's way with words and a journalist's clarity.
Clay readily admits that he is not a trading expert himself, having spent time in and out of the markets and hoping to use this podcast as a springboard for re entering them in a more purposeful and methodical way. This positions him more as a guide than a teacher and engenders this listener's trust in a field fraught with questionable motives.
After 42 episodes, I'm hungry for more.

New Age Market Wizards

I absolutely love what Brandon is doing here with Trading Story in interviewing a handful of different traders that all use different techniques to trade the markets. Each podcast shares a valuable gem that will not only enlighten, but inspire a newer trader to be successful. Also the honesty in Brandon walking us through his own struggles as a trader is refreshing as we all know that trading is indeed a grind and not a get rish quick scheme like we often hear ont he internet. Although I'm a consistently profitable trader myself, I make sure I catch each and every interview brandon does. Information is power and there's a lot of it here. Kepe it up man!

Thanks mate - great work

As a New Zealander who recently moved to Chicago for work (non trading related), I made the decision 6 months ago that becoming a profitable trader is my ultimate goal - simply put I've become burned out by the corporate world. After searching for a relevant podcast I am very glad to have stumbled upon this one - whether it's at the gym, walking to work or standing in the crowded Chicago train, you can be sure I'm listening to one of these episodes, if not for the 2nd or 3rd time. With all the book reading and the trading I am doing (mostly on the ASX.. for now), listening to this podcast has become integral to my learning.

As expected, it's been a rough introduction to the trading world with my account looking a little 'fatigued' by some major losses but thankfully I have always stopped myself short from blowing up my account, in part due the advice I've learned from these interviews.

Brandon mate keep up the good work and look forward to what you have for us in 2016 - let's hope one day it will be me you are interviewing!
