Description

Trail Correspondents is a teleportation machine to the trail- in audio form. Every other week, a select handful of thru-hikers on the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, Continental Divide Trail, and the American Discovery Trail, give us a glimpse into the world of long distance backpacking. Through their eyes and vocal cords, we learn all about the highs, lows, and nitty gritty details that go into a half-year, cross-country trek. Trail Correspondents is the next best thing to being on trail yourself.

Loving this so far!

Glad to see the trail correspondents series on its own platform! Can’t wait to hear the stories of the class of 2019!!! 🎉

Worthy (and more) successor to Sounds of the Trail

Zach Davis has been providing long-distance hikers with excellent information and resources in a variety of media for several years, starting with his book, "Appalachian Trials" — for my money, the single most important book any aspiring Appalachian Trail hiker can read, thanks to its focus on the mental aspects of the hike. And of course he is the guy behind The Trek (thetrek.co), an excellent, interesting site with a ton of information about long-distance hiking.

In the past year or so, he and his podcast partner, Juliana Chaunce, have launched Backpacker Radio and now Trail Correspondents, a spin-off of BR's excellent 2018 series of ongoing reports from current long-trail hikers.

I just want to say a big, big thank you to Zach and crew for bringing us the TC show. When Sounds of the Trail petered out after a couple of fine seasons, I really missed hearing directly from hikers on the trail. Now with TC, that concept is back, bigger and better than ever, well organized and fun.

If anyone wants to hear the Season 1 correspondents, do it through the Backpacker Radio podcast, which is also outstanding ... and frequently very funny.

Hooked

As an aspiring thru hiker (I know...just get out there already) the end of the first season left me wanting more. The second season is finally here! Thank you to The Trek for putting this podcast together.
