A Fun Podcast for TRS-80 Enthusiasts
I recommend this podcast for anybody interested in the vintage TRS-80 computers. Whether you're into the home Z-80 machines, the big Z-80 and 68000 business machines, or the colorful 6809E CoCo, this is a fun and educational podcast.
Reliving the technical side of my youth
I am very happy to see a podcast dedicated to TRS-80 computers.
I already listen to the Coco few podcast, which is focused on a smaller subset of the TRS-80 line of computers.
As a child, I remember going into Radio Shack many times to get my free batteries, buy electronic components to build kits, even though I had no idea how they worked. Radio Shack kept me off of the streets.
It’s great to hear from other TRS-80 users & enthusiasts, as well as hearing the interviews with the developers who helped make these computers popular.
Listening to the podcast brings bak so many memories from the time when I was just getting started in electronics & computers. It’s just good fun, and helps to cut down the boredom of the daily commute. In fact, my commute is very short. I often arrive at work in the middle of an interesting discussion, in the podcast. I often will sit in my car as long as I can, before turning off the podcast, and going into work. I’ve also been known the eat lunch in my car, so I can get more podcast time with the Trash Talkers. ;-)
Thanks for a great podcast, I’m looking forward to many more episodes (and lunches in my car) ;-)
Finally, the Trash 80 gets some love!
I was just searching for a good podcast one day and came across TRS-80 Trash Talk. I've been a fan of the radio shack computers for a long time. I have several different models and this podcast does a really great job of covering my favorite models! I own a model 4 and thanks to listening to the podcast, I know a whole lot more about the particlar one I own (Non gate-array older model). This podcast has motivated me to love retro computing even more. When I bought my model 4 and first turned it on, my twin boys (10) watched in awe. Then very quickly when white smoke and a terrible stench began to pour from the back of the unit, they ran in terror. The TRS-80 kept right on booting up and working beautifully. You just don't get that sort of resiliency in modern computers.
The hosts are all super knowlegable and seem very committed to keeping the trs-80 alive and used in the modern days! I'm almost caught up on all of the episodes and look forward to many many more.
