Love the topic podcast needs improvement

The premise of this show is to interview authors of true crime. It would be great except 1: the host sounds like if he or someone he asked made a list of questions and he is just going down the list. Many times throughout the podcast u get the sense he checked out and was reading some emails or something then went on to the next question when he heard the author stop talking. The host just seems either disinterested or unskilled. The other problem is that some of the authors are bad interviewees. Therefore a bad interviewer with a bad interviewee makes for a really difficult show. I like true crime and I really want to like this show but it needs major improvement.

I Really Want To Like It!

I had decided to give this podcast a second chance because I had heard an interview Dan had done on another podcast, "Sword and Scale" and it got me excited to give true murder another shot. I then compared the quality of this podcast to pretty much every other podcast I listen to and it's just awful. I can barely hear the interview and Dan just seems like he's not really into the conversation and it bores me to sleep at my desk. This is a great idea for a podcast and could be my favorite if I see a little production value the next time I decide to subscribe.

Buy A Decent Mic and Learn English!

While I am very interested in true crime and very much appreciate the premise of this podcast, unfortunately the host Dan is just _barely_ able to get out an intelligible sentence without either tripping all over himself or, as bad, repeating his question three of four times in the same sentence, taking one minute to stumble and mumble out a question that could be easily and succinctly put in 10 seconds. He calls himself a journalist and author, but his language skills are much lower than high school level. The other thing is the unspeakably horrible audio. Buy yourself a decent mic! They're not that expensive! It sounds like you're talking to your guests using two tin cans and a length of string. I suggest you try actually writing out your questions in advance, using only the minimum and necessary number or words, and then PRACTICE reading them over and over and over until you can get them out without sounding like an illiterate dunce.
