Since 2008, the Two Gomers have been getting off the couch and doing things they never thought they could do. First, they trained for a Half Marathon. Then they went for the full. After that, they tried to run 26.2 in under 5 hours (the Sub-Five Strive). After a fourth season of some major life changes (a new baby for one, a new job for the other), and Season 5 where they went back to the basics, learning to train for a Half Marathon all over again, Season 6 is upon us: Two Gomers Race A Triathlon! Join Steven and Anthony as they continue to challenge themselves, run (swim and bike) ridiculous distances, and go off on about a dozen entertaining tangents per episode. Whether this podcast motivates, entertains, or inspires, we hope you enjoy Two Gomers Run For Their Lives! Happy Running!

Only Podcast I listen to religiously...

I'm not sure why I like this podcast so much because I was looking for running information when I stumbled upon it. It reminds me of Biggest Loser in that its real, honest guys admitting their weakness and doing something about it. It is inspiring. I highly recommend starting from the beginning (Two Gomers Run a Half Marathon),especially if you are new to running. I love the stories (even the gross ones) about what can/did happen while running. I know I'm not alone and its not always so darn easy! Ok, there are a FEW unrelated tangents but it helps you understand the Gomers and what they are about. Its really sweet to see such a wonderful friendship even while competing!

More than just a podcast

These guys are great. They are funny, genuine, and they work really hard in everything they do. The Gomers have turned me from a couch potato into a person who has run 6 5k's, and is training to run a half marathon next Spring. I've lost 60 pounds while listening to this podcast. These guys are such atypical runners that even people like me can get into it; they are previous band geeks, and Mario Kart used to be their most active part of the day. Now they run marathons, and I absolutely love listening to them.

Season Three Missing Something

The Two Gomers podcast is about two very good friends (Anthony and Steven) who are two genuinely good guys that you quickly begin to care about. You look forward to hearing from them each week and to get an update on their lives, likes, dislikes, quirky views on things and on running. To me it is almost like listening to a podcast version of the old Bing Crosby and Bob Hope buddy movies. You never know what will happen to these two in their lives. For the last couple of years I have followed them and listened as they set out to do things that they had never done before in regards to running. People helped them by providing running related advice to help them achieve their goals during those seasons. The first two seasons were entertaining and fairly informative in their own way. Now in season three there seems to be something missing. The episodes are much more about just their weekly lives and less and less about running. Sure they provide updates about their training but the spirit of the podcasts have changed. Maybe as a member of the Gomer Nation I am less engaged this season because they have done this before. In the past we were proud of them when they achieved a distance or race they never had before. Now races are almost a monthly occurrence for them and the advice and information is sparse at best. For anyone wanting some guidance on running or on how to get started running I would look elsewhere, even if it is back to their first two seasons. My advice is to make this podcast purely about what it is, the lives of the two Gomers and label it as such (Two Gomers on the Run for example). Update us on the training and races but ensure people know it is more about the friendship between the two of you and not primarily about running.
