Under the Influence from CBC Radio
By CBC Radio
The first 50 years of modern advertising was hard-sell. The next 50 years was persuasion through creativity and media tonnage. But advertising is no longer a loud one-way conversation. It's a delicate dialogue now. The goal is no longer to triumph by weight, but to win by influence. Welcome to Under the Influence. An exploration of that critical shift.

Greetings from Chicago
Terry O'Reilly is the reason why I think radio in its many forms (broadcast, streamed, podcast, etc) will once again attain its Golden Era.
Beautifully produced, full of edutainment (educating entertainment). It is perfect for anyone wanting to know more, reinforce fading education, or receive a competing edge in marketing and advertising.
I also recommend his previous show "The Age of Persuasion."
Another great radio program/podcast
I was an avid listener to the previous show "The Age of Persuasion" and was hooked early on.
Terry and the rest of his production team have created another fantastic program with "Under the Influence". The show provides some interesting history tie-ins, some human nature quirks, and lots of cheeky humor to describe how marketing vies and sometimes fails for your attention.
Something about Terry's narration and the sound production pulls you in and holds tight. Catchy and informative.
Great job Terry and the team! 5 stars.
The inner-workings of the modern ad game
In previous series, Terry O'Reilly has provided an entertaining, informative look into the history of advertising. With this new series he looks at the rapidly transforming world of the modern ad as it goes social, international, and underground. If you are in the business of selling, or find yourself being sold to, this is essential listening.
