Songs of Victory Part 3 – I Will Rise

Songs of Victory Part 3 – I Will Rise

Today, our song should be heard worldwide as we sing about the Resurrection of Jesus our Lord. He is Risen from the Dead! This has tremendous implications in our personal lives. It is a life-changing message. It is a message that affects our lives daily and eternally. Because Jesus is alive, “I Will Rise” when He calls my name. My eternity is set in Heaven with Him! It is not because I am good, but it is because He is so good and paid for my sin. All I did was repent of my sin and commit my life to Him. You too can have victory because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ!

Songs of Victory Part 2 – The Wonderful Cross

Songs of Victory Part 2 – The Wonderful Cross

Our thoughts turn to “the wonderful cross” on which the King of Glory died. The week ahead of us is what we commonly call “passion week”. It is representative of the final week of Jesus on earth in His earthly body. Also, today is considered to be “Palm Sunday”, this is representative of Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem, hailed and worshipped as King. Then only a few days later, they were crying out for His crucifixion. When we consider this week, we canâ€t help but declare victory!!! Jesus suffered and died on the cruel cross of Calvary. He gave His life in exchange for mine. He paid for my sin on that cross. That is Victory!!!

    Songs of Victory 1 – O What a Savior

In the next few weeks we will be highlighting “Songs of Victory” Songs have always been a great part of the victory celebrations of people groups, even Godâ€s people sang songs depicting great victory. Today, I announce to you that we have Victory in our Lord Jesus Christ!!! We sing, Victory in Jesus heralding the fact that we do have victory in and though Jesus Christ. Today I am highlighting a song written in 1948 by Marvin P. Dalton. It has been one of my favorite songs down through the years. Letâ€s rejoice in this Song of Victory: “O What a Savior”. 1 Corinthians 15:57, “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Christmas in the Heartland Part 1

Christmas in the Heartland Part 1

We are celebrating Christmas and we are celebrating it in community, as a group of believers who have agreed together to carry our the great commission and live the great commandment in a world that hates our God and His Word.

In 1843 Charles Dickens wrote a book that would become very popular, even 170 years later. “A Christmas Carol”. Later in 1859 he would write the book, “The Tale of Two Cities”. In that book, we find the quote that pretty much depicts how it was for believers in Jerusalem at this time.

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of skepticism, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us…”

-Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities

This quote shows the struggle of humanity in a world that is failing and a Savior that is saving. It describes well what was happening in Jerusalem and the surrounding area at the time. It shows exactly how things are in our culture today!!
