Great Podcast but...

TUAW is the best website for apple and the podcast is great too. However, I really wish they would work on getting their audio consistent. I listen to most my podcasts in the car. When I listen to TUAW I have to keep one hand on the volume at all times. You can barely hear the host so you crank up the volume then someone chimes in and blows your speakers. I would think they could somehow make the audio consistent.

Good content, but it's the worst sounding podcast on the Internet.

TUAW would have one of the best Mac oriented podcasts out there were it not for the total disregard for audio quality that they seem to have for it. Week after week after countless week, the podcast continues to be nearly unlistenable, because almost zero attention is paid to upholding even a minimal level of audio production values. Ridiculously inconsistent levels (often ear-splitting, digitally clipped levels), Skype "robot voice" dropouts that are not edited out, panelists that use thier Macbook's built-in microphone instead of a real microphone, annoyingly audible keyboard typing sounds, etc. It's a real shame, because the panelists are all smart, passionate, thoughtful and opinionated pundits on the topic of all things Macintosh, but when you're constantly distracted from the content due to glaring sound issues, it makes for really difficult listening. I don't understand why they have such a hard time with this, when almost every other podcast I listen to (including no-budget, basement podcasts that don't have the Weblogs, Inc. media behemoth behind it) don't even come close to sounding as bas as the TUAW podcast.

Some people edit their podcasts, they don't.

I listened to my first episode (#39) and it was the worst sounding podcast I've ever heard. It was glitchy and had minutes of silence in the middle. It would have sounded better if it had been recorded on a PC.
