yoga student

this is awesome 😶

I’m not one to LOL and this has me LOLing

Ryan and Kate share insightful, smart opinions about everything yoga-sphere related and has me in fits of laughter more often than not. Funnier than SNL. If nothing else, listen for Kate’s impressions/impersonations. It’ll also help you think about yoga-related topics in a way you have not considered them before. Just listen.

Discussion about yoga thats's both Intellectual AND approachable

There's no shortage of yoga-related content out there, but quality is a whole other story.

Two years ago, I was immersed in my 200 TT and was craving so much more than what was out there. I wanted to learn all about others' personal experiences throughout their yoga practice. The problem was, almost all of what I found sounded the same. Pithy, skirting on woo-woo, full of what I like to call "Enwhitenment" babble.

So I approached one of my teachers to find out where I could find something a bit more meaty, erudite yet approachable and grounded in realism. Full disclosure—that teacher was Ryan Cunningham (half of this great podcast).

Ryan said that there wasn't much out there online, or in publications. There were some writers who fit the bill, but the content I was searching for was not "written down."

"It's the conversations you have with your teachers, that I have with mine. Those discussions are where you find it, and it's not really the sort of thing you can write down."

Thank you, Ryan and Kate (also one of my favorite teachers), for your honest and astute conversations about your practices. It's incredibly funny & refreshing and absolutely necessary—because "it happened to me" stories from the yoga mat are so much more than "I cried in half pigeon and knew I had found home."
