The Legendary Kondabolu Brothers of Queens (Hari and Ashok) were born to Indian immigrant parents who attempted to create Indian-American superhumans and instead were left with a comedian (Hari) and a man of undefinable abilities (Ashok). Successful individually in their pursuits of comedy and music, they have combined forces to create a semi-regular live talk show in NYC called “The Untitled Kondabolu Brothers Project” and a new podcast “The Untitled Kondabolu Brothers Podcast.” They are one day hoping to make money.

Funny Guys, High Hopes for this

Saw these two at their show at the PIT in NYC, they have a great dynamic, remind me of me and my brother. Like at the live show Hari was about to launch into a tirade about a picture of a black Mary holding a white Jesus, when all of a sudden Ashok realizes that its a Santeria statue that doesn't have the same implications, and Hari has to sheepishly finish his rant while trying to figure out A) Why his brother just undercut him live on stage and B) why he couldn't have told him earlier. Hilarious.

As for the pilot episode of this podcast, it was fun but could use some structure and hopefully less discussion of what a podcast is. In that interest I'l put my 2 cents here. Some podcasts basicaly talk about current events, like news and things from your life; not too different from the live show. Many podcasts have guests, which allows a new set of things to talk about each week that get filtered through the hosts' dynamic. This coud also be a lot like the live show. Frankly I think it would be a fill a huge gap as most comedy podcasts are out in LA so there is a huge untapped resource of NYC comics and actors, not to mention musicians, who would be great guests. Caveat being that I think we denizens of NYC are less likely to listen to or be familiar with podcasts as we don't have long isolated car commutes, but on the other hand most LA guests don't listen to podcasts. Doubt guests would want to trek out to Queens tho. Keep doing it, I'm sure you'll work out the kinks, expect big things.

Racial. Justice. Comedy.

I really love Hari and Ashok's take on issues like how to deal with cultural appropriation on liberal arts college campuses, tests of cultural authenticity from friends, and racism in casting for TV and film. They have a great back-and-forth, and I've really enjoyed getting to know their parents through the "dad time" and "mom time" segments. Smart, funny, and entertaining!

Best podcast on iTunes.

I listen to a lot of comedy podcasts on iTunes such as Comedy Bang Bang, Nerdist, and many other Earwolf podcasts as well. And I have to say, these guys are the funniest and the most interesting podcast by FAR. They have great chemistry together. Hari Kondabolu is one of my favorite stand up comedians now, and I've known Ashok Kondabolu for a long time since I am a huge Das Racist fan and he was their hype man (Das Racist is a really good hip-hop group that is unfortunately broken up now :( I hope they get back together soon. I feel like i really relate to these two, and they are definitely my favorite podcast I have ever heard. And they are from India and speak Telugu, I AM FROM INDIA AND SPEAK TELUGU AS WELL!!! YEEEE
