Vassals of Kingsgrave (VOK) is a podcast for fans of fantasy fiction, particularly George R. R. Martin’s A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE and J. R. R. Tolkien’s THE LORD OF THE RINGS. We also love to chat about movies, TV shows, comic books, video games, anime, and fandom culture. Since our first episode in June 2013, we have attracted over 50 regular contributors, and recorded almost 1000 hours of original content. Currently, our hosts span four continents, and argue in a variety of different accents, but the one language we all share is geek! Full episode archive available at

This is a great podcast for those who want to listen to intelligent discussions of ASOIAF. It has a delicious, international flavor. Great job, everyone!

An Incredible Undertaking

This show is an excellent example of what happens when a group of passionate people come together to create something. In a short time, over 50 podcasts have been produced by this crew, with many more on the way. 50 podcasts that cover not only a wide variety of interests in pop culture, but also highly academic and involved discussions. Eloquently presented and enjoyable works that offer something for everyone.

This is not a professional podcast, with a set group of hosts working inside a specific set of parameters dictating what it can and should be. It's constantly evolving, growing, and changing; becoming something new with each episode and building on a powerfully diverse catalogue, with a group of hosts just as diverse, coming from all corners of the globe.

I can't wait to see what VoK produces in the future because there's honestly no podcast like it and that's a pretty rare thing.

The section intro music is genius.

Long time listener to APOIAF, thought I would give this a try since Amin and the gang take so much time between episodes and haven't really discussed ADWD enough for my tastes. There is a bit of people so excited to talk (sometimes lecture) that there is a bit of talking over each other. Sometimes I forget there are four people talking because the conversation can be monopolized. I doesn't have the chemistry of APOIAF but I still recommend, that flow took years to create. I wish people would introduce themselves and state where they live. I am pretty sure they had people from three or four different continents discussing ASOIAF and that is pretty cool. Also, cannot say enough about the music intros discussing the characters. Davos "I am on a Boat" is pure genius. LOVE LOVE LOVE the music choices. Also, liked the Gone with the Wind discussion- also a favorite, and just downloaded the Temeraire show. Oh and kids running around, chewing and paper rustling, typing in the background- needs to stop. An occasional dog bark or door bell is understandable but stop the background noise!!
