We are listening

Keep it up, I am from Texas and listening to ur podcast I appreciate it and God Bless y'all !!!

After being confused and condemned by fellow Christians for following what I thought was God's plan for my life I was going to pull away from the church again and just live a rational more reasonable life. After listening to your series on Renegade, I am reminded once again that God calls his people to do extraordinary things and I will continue in what I feel God has called me to do in this life . Thank you .

Never Been to Verve

I've never been to Verve. I've never even been to Vegas. And I have a huge problem with church and I don't trust pastors or deacons or ministers or organ players. But I do trust my gut especially when I believe God is trying to tell me something even of its from a pastor or a deacon or a child or a pot head or a president or a prisoner. They rarely have any idea that God used them to reach out to me. There are very few people who take up their cross and follow Jesus. I think Vince is one of those people. He's not preachy or holier than thou. He doesn't ask for your money or condemn you for sinning. He just accepts what God told him to do and he shares the love that God's given him with anyone that will listen. He doesn't cram it down your throat for money, playing off your fear of hell like most church leaders. He tells you the truth in a way that is consistent with what's in the bible, and he does it in a down to earth mano y mano kind of way. I don't know the folks at verve but I love them as much as I know they must love me. I can't tell you how many times I'll be listening to Vince or tommy or whoever and they'll say something that strikes at the heart of one of my deep seated issues. God frequently uses those moments to reveal to me what I've done wrong, why it's a sin and how to get out of it and back into step with His plan for my life. Take porn for example. I've been deep in that sin for a long time until recently. I heard the olympic sized bloopers Esau podcast and realized I was trading an incredible relationship with my future wife for a few photos and videos and could never love me back or provide me with the joy that comes from having a family of my own. Since hearing that podcast I've gotten rid of every picture, video, bookmark and web search that's been tricking me into selling my birthright. Will I be able to stay away from that bowl of lentils? Not on my own, but God can help me make it a thing of the past. Time will tell, not wether I struggle with the temptation, but weather I overcome that struggle with Jesus help. I know I can do anything when Jesus is right here with me. And the fact is that the hunger for that bowl of porn has vanished just like the cravings for cigarettes did more than a year ago. I haven't smoked a cigarette since God took that craving away and I have the feeling I won't be reading another bowl of porn again. And I don't miss it. It's like when you're not hungry for food, it doesn't matter how much is laid out in front of you, you don't feel the need to eat it. I realized that I was using porn to fill the void that only a God given wife could fill. Like when Jesus was at the well and gave us the difference between water and living water. Anyway, I could go on and on but I won't. Verve has been the hugest blessing. Thank you guys for choosing to live the lives that God planned for you. And thank you Jesus for giving me Verve.
