Josh and Yakov love the Hellraiser franchise more than they probably should, and are watching all nine (nine!) films and tearing them to loving bits one episode at a time.

Yakov and Josh create in their own low-key way a separate artistic universe where films which at first glance carry absolutely no weight to them whatsoever become so complex in their structure and their symbolism that they live and breathe in our subconscious like those indelible Biblical titans floating overhead on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Perhaps an episode of We Have Such FIlms To Show You may seem to one (or even our hosts themselves) a slapdash affair, a recap/review podcast about horror films shot in the past 30-35 years, but once the nervous, uncomfortable intros fade out and the structure of the show fleshes out, it becomes apparent that these two meticulous young men inhabit a headspace only few can claim to have truly understood and appreciated, that of the seeker in the medium of art for discernable meaning. Our plucky podcasters SCOUR these films for duplicate shots, visual clues, snippets of knowledge to be gained from these pieces in the minor key of horror. They readily admit their lack of preparation for this show, and, while that can come across as at best mildly amusing and at worst grossly offensive for people who claim to enjoy film as a hobby, it is absolutely made up for in their stream-of-consciousness musings on what could be called layman film philosophy, which ushers to light a thoughtfulness that nobody, certainly not the filmmakers themselves, could have possibly entertained on such films as Prophecy 3 or Hellraiser: Hellworld. Whether its their hilarious role as film apologists (they often attempt to imagine reasons for meaningless plot holes and disasterous horror storytelling) or as framers in a museum who intelligently try to fit these films into a proper, meaningful place in film history, Yakov and Josh make something unique here. They are not professionals, nor do seem to want to be; they just are, and what they are, precisely, lies somewhere between the line between accidental genius and purposeful madness, but their presence together on We Have Such Films To Show You is so singularly unique that to miss such a program in ones lifetime as a film junkie would be truly a missed opportunity.

Great job!

Really well put together episodes for any fan of the genre to enjoy

I enjoy this podcast immensely. I used to think to myself "Man, I clearly think about the little details in movies far too much." But apparently I'm not alone. These guys make great movies better and point out the good in bad movies. I recommend this podcast to anyone who enjoys horror movies and also references to "Prometheus" where only one guy has seen the movie.
