Professor Elizabeth Joh teaches Intro to Constitutional Law and most of the time this is a pretty straight forward job. But when Trump came into office, everything changed. During the four years of the Trump presidency, Professor Joh would check Twitter five minutes before each class to find out what the 45th President had said and how it jibes with 200 years of the judicial branch interpreting and ruling on the Constitution. Acclaimed podcaster Roman Mars (99% Invisible) was so anxious about all the norms and laws being tested in the Trump era that he asked his neighbor, Elizabeth, to explain what was going on in the world from a Constitutional law perspective. Even after Trump left office, there is still so much for Roman to learn. What Roman Mars Can Learn About Con Law is a weekly, fun, casual Con Law 101 class that uses the tumultuous activities of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches to teach us all about the US Constitution.

All music for the show comes from Doomtree, an independent hip-hop collective and record label based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Wisdom meets Law

Joh is an amazing teacher to craft so concise and understandable of an answer in such a short podcast. So interesting to have explained -the origins of the law, how it came to be and how it applies going forward. How a seemingly obscure application to a current situation is effected by the intent or the residual of a law even when YOU think a judicial ruling is missing the point. This podcast explains the rules in the game of justice. So valuable for understanding and accepting and seeing how things that were written long ago are applied to the current day situations. Our lives under the Rule of Law of the Land. I wish she would continue doing these as it's a valuable podcast we all should listen to and learn from.

Love This So Much

Thank you for this series - I was actually pre-law as a student and left the field when I realized I liked the history of the law more than the law itself- now I have this show and have loved it since day 1 - even if this nation finally forces the orange moron out of politics by voting to keep him out and making him as non relevant as he should be - keep the show - it’s amazing - thanks again
