bats in wi
Can't hear the guests, very annoying
Good Info - Need Quality of Sound Improvement
First and foremost, this is a great podcast. Hats off to the WI DNR for getting on board with the podcast popularity boom, and utilizing the platform to better inform their customers. I had low expectations going into this, but I will say, this podcast has certainly changed the way I perceive the WI DNR and the work they do for our resources in a positive way!
Unfortunately, the sound quality is very very poor. Far inferior to any podcast I’ve ever listened to. It’s understandable that they wouldn’t be at the same quality level as a “top tier” podcast with a larger budget, but they aren’t even close to the same league. The sound fluctuations between guests/speakers force me to constantly turn the volume up/down, or hit the “jump back” button, as I couldn’t catch what was said the first time. A slight adjustment in equipment would be a welcomed improvement.
Lastly, it would be great if this evolved to a point where the customer could rely on this for real time(or close to it) dissemination of information. The Regs have been changing far more than in the past, which is understandable given CWD and the quickly changing landscape we have. I have often noticed the new rule changes, as printed in the Regs, are not adequately articulated and seem to leave room for misinterpretation. Podcasts are a great forum to discuss these changes in layman’s terms, inform the public on the rationale behind them, and explain how they will impact the customer. I reference the recent change in transport of ungulate carcasses in response to CWD as a good example. I read the Regs three times and still had numerous questions.
Terrible sound quality
If this podcast made a minimum financial investment and just a little attention to detail on the sound quality this podcast would be 5 stars. In my car many of your guests cannot compete with the road noise from my car. Please get just a decent USB omnidirectional microphone or a nice portable recorder, then upload the sound file into a good audio editor and invest some time in post production. That will take this podcast from good to great.
