New intro/outro music

You guys have GOT to get new music for this podcast. It is far too cheerful for the dark, dismal, and sometimes depressing world of Game of Thrones. You need something foreboding and epic sounding, not light and upbeat.

Maybe just cut the actual music and have Siousxie and Sam do their riff together. 😃

[June 29 edit: Just heard the latest show and I’m pretty sure you guys were referencing this review in regards to the intro music. To be fair, I was reviewing the original theme music you guys were re-using/recycling from The Whorecast, not the new song written by Jackson Calder (sp?). I like the new song better than the Tinkerbell one, and while it isn’t ‘epic sounding’ it at least is appropriate.

In summation: Love the show, I now don’t immediately skip ahead past the intro music and look forward to your recap of the entire series leading up to the new season next year. Keep it up Sam and Siousxie!]

Spoilers

Not listening anymore and no longer a fan, lots of people have not read the books and I think you inadvertently divulged a spoiler for me.

Such a joy!

Siouxsie and Sam make a great pair and the conversation is fun, silly, and more often than not, quite insightful. They come at the world of Westerns from different perspectives (Siouxsie as a show-watcher, Sam as a reader and watcher) so the conversations cover a broad spectrum of involvement with the mythology of a Song of Ice and Fire. One of the things that I appreciate so much about this podcast is that it’s really clear that, even though the topic is fun, they take the discussion really seriously. It might be easy to sit around and jabber about last night’s episode, but that’s not the approach they take. Instead, they delve into the complex and subtle relationships and politics of Westeros in way that is both enjoyable, accessible and profound. These stories are so dense that it really increases one’s understanding of the mythology to have people approaching a common chunk of the story from two different levels of experience. Sam’s knowledge is comprehensive; Siouxsie asks great questions; they’ve got great rapport. I look forward to this podcast every week!

Thanks, Siouxsie and Sam for sharing this experience with me/us! I have recommended this podcast to several friends. I will continue doing just that! Well done!
