Description
Introducing a new podcast from the team behind Welcome to Night Vale and Alice Isn't Dead. Set within an alternate reality, Within the Wires tells stories in the guise of instructional audio programs. Each season guides the listener through a different audio experience from this other universe, ushering listeners through a curriculum which unravels to reveal a much deeper and more personal story. Season one, "Relaxation Cassettes", premieres June 21, 2016. New episodes every other Tuesday through October 25. Created by Jeffrey Cranor. Written by Jeffrey Cranor and Janina Matthewson. Relaxing guided meditation
A friend turned me on to this podcast after I mentioned that I was feeling a bit stressed lately. The narration is calming yet rigid. The background music kept me focused and by the time the first episode was over, that nagging neck pain was gone. In fact, I completely forgot what I was even stressed about. I would recommend this podcast to anyone in need of some relaxation.
I have shivers.
The first relaxation tape was an experience. Side A was interesting, and yes relaxing with the Night Vale undertones we all love. Side B was a completly different beast. I had shivers and for once, I was truly empathetic. It was amazing. Please. Listen to the first episode in its entirety. It was amazing.
Lacks structure
I found this to be very disappointing. Its structure is set up as a mystery world where you are supposed to find the rules of the world as you go along, but the information about the nature & structure of the world in which it takes place comes so slowly that it becomes frustrating and confusing. It appears that this is set up as a serial-type mystery show that will be guided through instructional audio cassettes. I found the episode much more confusing than entertaining.
