Description

Welcome to Woke Doctor Who, a podcast about race and representation in Doctor Who with an Asian lady from DC and a Black lady from Baltimore. In our inaugural episode, we introduce ourselves and discuss why we care so much that our favorite show feature people that look like us, our family, and our friends. We also chat about British imperialism, gutsy casting choices, firsts, and the future.

Yes!!!

I love this podcast so much! There’s so much to examine in doctor who from a woke female POC perspective and the hosts do it so beautifully. Keep it up y’all!!

Perspective Shift

I just stumbled across this recently and it's quickly moved to an all time favorite podcast. As a Doctor Who fan since childhood, it's fantastic to listen to these women who love it also open up new perspectives for me. Some thoughts I've had, others have never occurred to me and some I don't quite agree with.

More I say!

I don't want to go!

This is my FAVORITE podcast of all time. When I'm listening, I feel like I'm sitting in my living room with my best friends and talking about some of the most meaningful parts of my favorite show. Eugenia and Tonya really know their Doctors, and they're not afraid to put important criticisms on the table (season 10) alongside celebrations of some of the best aspects of representation in the series (Martha!!). Every time an episode ends, I don't want it to be over. I'm really looking forward to new episodes this year!
