An exciting and intriguing story

Vivid characters, a fast-moving plot, full of suspense and fascinating technology of the future---what more could you want in a science fiction story? And James Prescott tells his tale with great skill as he reveals the fate of the Starship Hanno and the adventures of its heroes.

The story begins many centuries in the future, where a cruel despot and his cronies rule America.

Mastermind G.J. Stokes has reached the summit of his scientific career as preparations begin to launch the starship Hanno, which he has designed for the Exploration Corps, a branch of the government services. Not only will Stokes be aboard, but his brilliant though troubled daughter Linda will be joining him. He chooses Captain Paul Poluka to head the mission.

But there is a surprise in store for Poluka's heroic second in command, Jose Aguire, who only learns later that the Hanno's crew is all "criminals" against the ruling regime.

Without giving the story away, I can't go on with this description, but the story involves danger and death in space, a plot to overthrow the government, amazing discoveries on Arcturus, and a culminating battle to the death. And there is quite a bit of welcome humor along the way.

Linda and G.J. are unnaturally gifted physically and mentally, and Jose Aguire is fascinated with Linda. The interplay among the characters is as arresting as the excitement of reaching Arcturus, where the aliens are both similar to and very different from humans--of course, there is reason for that.

I urge you to listen and to enjoy this story as I have. You won't be disappointed.
