Description

Rather than looking at movies in terms of "two thumbs up" or "two thumbs down" Award Winning Screenwriter Jacob Krueger discusses what you can learn from them as a screenwriter. He looks at good movies, bad movies, movies we love, and movies we hate, exploring how they were built, and how you can apply those lessons to your own writing. Charms of Latin Lover AND WYS podcasts

Yes! The truly comic and structural genius of the script for How To Be a Latin Lover, praised and analyzed with equally genius insights and explanation. What a gift! And free. If all an aspiring screenwriter (with no budget for mentoring or education) did was watch the associated films and then listen to these podcasts: it would be a rich film/writing education indeed. Thank you for putting these out there!

Great podcast

Sometimes I watch a movie and cannot quite figure out why it did or didn’t work. I know how I “feel” about a film, but pinpointing the structural reason for its success or failure is (for me) often elusive. When I listen to these podcasts I have many “Aha” moments. The content of the each podcast is so smart and coherent; it’s a great course on the structure of films. Regardless of how/why you watch films (as an average viewer or as a filmmaker), the podcasts are all fascinating.

As a wanna-be screenwriter, I find the way the films are broken down in these podcasts gives me great insight for my own writing. Understanding why a film works or doesn’t work structurally gives me a more complete understanding of the issues I face as a filmmaker and helps me write better scripts.

Keep making these & keep sharing. LOVE THIS PODCAST!!

Moar

I crave this podcast more than any podcast. Tears for days.
