YosemiteLand is a new, limited-series podcast from Capital Public Radio. Hosted by Ezra David Romero, it explores how Yosemite and the surrounding area is impacted by the more than 4 million annual visitors — a number that’s growing rapidly by the year. In each episode, Ezra unpacks challenges Yosemite faces and explores how to remedy problems such as over-visitation, congestion and traffic, a lack of affordable housing and more. YosemiteLand isn’t a podcast about top-10 hiking destinations or park secrets, but Ezra will also introduce you to world famous rock climbers, bear biologists, Native Americans born in the park, realtors trying to sell homes in a flooded market, and many others. Look for new episodes on Mondays.

Customer Reviews

I am being reminded and taught of details that I am unaware of or go unnoticed. You bring me stories with fresh eyes. I walk on the river every day, I lay in the sand, I smell the air, I listen to nature, and of course, I am always in awe of the majestic granite beauty. I Drive public transportation for YARTS into the park from Merced, Fresno, Sonora and Mammoth Lakes. I have been doing this for six years. Thank you for creating a podcast that is exactly my life!

Entertaining & Informative

Anybody that loves the outdoors or planning a trip to Yosemite will love this podcast!

Central Valley Secret

Growing up in the central valley was a huge influence on why I care about national parks today. You’re somebody was a foundation of a lot of individual strengths of mine and was brought to me in my childhood. It saddens me to hear about the issues the park is dealing with now that I live on the East Coast. This podcast is an excellent positive spin on a place I still call home and miss dearly. Thank you so much for producing and I can’t wait for more episodes!
