Great for fans of sports or writing or sportswriting

Jeff Pearlman is a natural at this, and it’s kind of amazing it took this long for him to start his own podcast. Some great insight into the writing process, along with bonkers behind the scenes sports stories. This is one you will listen to as soon as it downloads.

Not just another journalism podcast

One thing I like about this podcast is how often subjects outside of the news journalism industry are covered. It's nice to hear people talk about the day-to-day life of covering a news story, but there are aready so many podcasts that do that. Jeff Pealrman makes his about writing in general, and often times, he focuses on sports writing, which I love. The podcast offers a glimpse into an industry in a way that many other podcasts stray away from: they talk about the craft of sports writing. No hot takes about sports, not entirely focused on news, just a talk about different forms of writing. Fantastic.

Great Insight into Sportswriting & Sport Media

While not all of Pearlman's guests are sportswriters, my favorite episodes are when he has fellow sportswriters on to share their backstories, writing processes, and best tales about being beat writers and book authors.

This podcast is definitely a must-listen for anyone who has an interest in sportswriting and the current sports media landscape.
