Meet Manoush and Jen, founders of Stable Genius Productions. They’re documenting the process of starting a media company while trying not to simultaneously become bad mothers, bankrupt themselves, or destroy their wonderful creative partnership. And when their first funding comes in the form of cryptocurrency, things get really interesting. ZigZag is a meta-mix of voice memos, taped conversations, come-to-Jesus moments, and mini-stories about entrepreneurship, deciding how to align your values with your ambitions, and building strong partnerships.

Not about Tech
These are two journalists, not tech people. They promised their first episode would be about the blockchain but that was a lie. They failed to make me care about any of their entrepreneurial woes in their first episode. Zigzag is an appropriate name because they don’t seem very focused.
Enough recap, recap, recap and who you are, what you’re doing, and why and actually give us some real content. It’s as tough you weren’t ready to tell the story you intend to tell and started to publish episodes prematurely.
The broad themes had me interested, but they did not deliver. What is their company’s product? A podcast about trying to make a podcast company whose product is a podcast about podcasting? Vaguely narcissistic and ultimately boring. This is not audience-focused story telling. Need an editor to hold them accountable. Stat. The first rule of podcasting should be don’t talk about podcasting. Ugh.
