CATCH UP WITH A CLASSIC
Super Mario Run
Super Mario Run
Control Mario with just a tap!
A console staple for more than 30 years, Nintendo’s mustachioed mascot Mario finally took the plunge(r) and headed to iPhone and iPad in 2016’s Super Mario Run.
It was a dream debut, but like Mario, the game hasn’t stopped moving. Super Mario Run has eaten a veritable field of Super Mushrooms, growing significantly in both size and scope. Haven’t played in a while? Here are a few reasons to run back to the portly plumber:
It’s loaded with modes
The game’s main Tour takes you on a whistle-stop journey through the Mushroom Kingdom–from the famous caves and castles to the clouds above. Once your skills are up to snuff, you can challenge other Marios in the Toad Rally, where you race against the clock to outscore online rivals.
Only have a few minutes to spare? Try Remix 10 mode, which lets you play through a randomized assortment of 10 miniature courses. They’re over in a matter of seconds and offer great, hectic fun—and some awesome rewards.
It’s a builder
Play well and you’ll unlock new decorations, statues, and buildings. Transform a simple plot of land into a flourishing realm block by block. Run out of space? Just purchase a rainbow bridge to expand your domain. Tons of new parts have been added since launch. Let your inner designer shine!
It’s got character
Meet certain milestones to unlock playable versions of Mario pals Luigi, Toad, Yoshi, and Princess Peach. Each has a unique ability: Yoshi is immune to spike damage, for instance, while Toad runs a bit quicker. And if you complete Remix 10 mode, you’ll unlock Princess Daisy, who can reach new heights with her invaluable double jump.
