Incredibly informative...a lovely assemblage of stories that need to be told about Black African creativity, ingenuity, and resilience from antiquity to today. Watching this show, I was surprised by the number of "I didn't know that" moments. I find myself filled with pride in our ancestors and inspired to learn more. I recommend this documentary to all interested in human history.

This is a documentary that I would recommend to anybody that wants to know the true history of Africa and its civilizations not just in North Africa but in Sub-Saharan Africa due to the negative, ignorant & racial stereotypes the western media has of black africans in sub-saharan Africa, so I feel this documentary was long over due and had to be done as far as I am concerned to shut down what the western media has been spreadding for many years about Africa especially about Black africans. I feel Professor Gates did a great job and this documentary is worth every penny.
