Open iTunes to preview or buy TV shows.

The tale of Afro Samurai is one of bloody hardship and pain. Along his solitary path of revenge for his murdered father, he sheds no tears and knows no love. Forever chased by powerful enemies in a lawless technology-speckled dystopia, he evades bullets and blade to reach his final prey: a man who will not die. But Afro will reach his quarry, even if it means painting a road of blood and brains from here to the bitter inevitable end.

Buy it! The whole season!

This is one of the best animes I've seen in quite a while. IMHO, it ranks up there with Ninja Scroll and Ghost in the Shell as far as interesting concept, well-executed artwork and great action sequences. You won't be disappointed!

Stellar Anime

Very impressive. High points range from excellent hip-hop soundtrack that fits the mood of the show, which was composed by the RZA, wonderfully fluid animation from GONZO, and fantastic voice acting. Sam Jackson does a stellar job. I'm just bummed that it's only 5 episodes. That just means you'll have to savor everyone of them. Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Just an observation...

Look, the show was cool! Anyone who says otherwise hasn't seen the crap that they pass off as animation on american tv. "Avengers" anyone? This set is much better as a dvd because all the disjointed, and fragmented limitations of a 27 minute episode are put together for a more fluid story. One glaring problem that I have with some of the reviews on here, is that there seems to be a focus on the protagonist being black as a reason why this isn't anime...anime is simply the style of drawing originating from Japan. If this was just a white samurai drawn by the same artists with Matt Damon doing the voice work, I doubt it would garner a single comment on authenticity. All told if you like samurai stories with a slight twist, give this one a try!
