In 1963, a terrified Cleveland family called in ghost hunter Hans Holzer after witnessing a phantom hand pry up nails and open a trap door. The team heads to Ohio, where disturbing clues lead them to the surprising source of the ghastly haunting.

Hans Holzer believed a sensational tale of heartache and murder hid the real story behind one of his most famous cases. The team heads to New York City’s Old Merchant’s House to uncover the terrifying truth of this Victorian-age haunting.

The team reopens the file on the Surratt Tavern, where John Wilkes Booth hid after fatally shooting Abraham Lincoln in 1865. Tapes from the case reveal Hans' medium channeling "a madman in the family" who shares the name of the infamous assassin.

Between 1960 and 1975, Hans conducted several investigations of Franklin Castle, one of America's most haunted houses. Strangely, he refused to publish his findings. The team travels to Ohio to uncover why he intentionally buried the mysterious case.

Hans Holzer had a lifelong obsession with Rockland County, NY, the site of his first case. Half a century later, the team attempts to decode the region's rampant paranormal activity. Does it stem from a revolutionary past or something far more sinister?
