At the start of Season 4, Tommy Gavin finds himself in as much hot water as ever. After rejecting Sheila's offer to retire from the FDNY and live out the rest of their days together in a beach house she purchased with her 9/11 widow money, Sheila drugged Tommy and threw a fit that resulted in the beach house burning to the ground. Given his cloudy memory of what happened and his past history of violence, drinking, and blacking out, Tommy is now under investigation by the insurance company for starting the fire. Word of Tommy's situation is also spreading throughout the FDNY, causing the higher-ups to consider launching an investigation of their own, threatening not only Tommy's job but his freedom as well.

Customer Reviews

Rescue Me is one of those shows that stays with you long after the credits have came and gone. The writing in this show is so good, you actually begin to develope relationships and begin to care about the characters. I think this show is a staple on primetime TV and it should stay for a long time. Theres no better cast than this one, and they show it.

Best Show on Cable

The most intense, dramatic, and still hilarious show on cable.

Must watch TV

For three and one half seasons, Rescue me never ceases to bore. The story lines are always twisting and turning with characters that are believable. Dennis Leary should get more recognition for his portrayal of Tommy Gavin, a FDNY veteran trying to quit boozing, keep his family together, and rid himself of the ghosts of his past. A great suporting class makes this must see TV.
